Humans. Divided BC — Before Christ. Not Divided AC — After COVID-19 (And Climate Change). The human species has changed over time and has continued to expand in its differences. Ethnicities. Social status. Geographic locations. Financial status. Religion. Tribes. Beliefs. You name it. It’s there, carving a line in the sand, parting groups of people like the Red Sea in Biblical times. With every slice of the sand, another conflict arising like a volcano from the broken surface.
Human nature divided. Sides formed, and with it, the very nature within people divided along with it. Take a side, put ego in the mix, sinful thoughts, and selfish action, and you’ve got conflict. War among men, and war within men themselves. Battles and conflict continued in Biblical times. Even to such a degree, that it took a worldly natural event to unite all that was divided, war-soaked, and poisoned. The great flood, Noah, and his Ark. That civilization eradicated. All of those people gone.
Fast forward many centuries. The advancement of the human mind, technological advancements, unnatural human drive. Drive for all that is not Godly. But of ego, the human species is yet again, as divided as the earth’s landmasses. With events like Apartheid in South Africa, The Holocaust, and The Nazi Regime.
Even the World Wars, and slavery. Among other human-inspired events, the divide continued to gain. People were separated in terms of race, religion, wealth, etc… Then towns and cities grew. First and third world economies started ranking on different economical scales. Poverty and abundance governed different lands. We are now in the 20th Century. Humans are not only divided by ego-based, man-made influences and differences. And they hold onto these differences. With force.
According to Wikipedia, “A civilization is any complex society characterized by urban development, social stratification, a form of government, and symbolic systems of communication. Civilizations are intimately associated with and often further defined by other socio-politico-economic characteristics, such as centralization, the domestication of both humans and other organisms, specialization of labor, culturally-ingrained ideologies of progress, and supremacism, monumental architecture, taxation, societal dependence upon farming, and expansionism.”
Consider this definition. The true understanding of what makes a civilization. Defining characteristics. Before the global pandemic arrived at the global scene, attempts were made. Endevours to unite people across the globe. Unite nations, unite all who call earth home. This proved unsuccessful. Differences still fractionalized individuals here, there, and everywhere.
So. What would be the antidote to all that creates motivation to hold onto differences. Validation of this holding onto separation. An unnatural poisoning of the human species.
A natural antidote of course.
Looking at current Covid-19 times. In a world facing climate change. Early 2021 and for recent months past. All inhabitants of this beautiful planet. We have seen all that defines/makes/builds a civilization crumbling. Economies worldwide are struggling with first world countries and their people. Falling down the ranks to what-could-be unexpected third-world status. The rich, hit by global markets and international trades, seeing bankrolls plummeting.
Social financial status, over recent months, leveling the financial field. The unemployed now live the life of the unemployed. All around the world. — whether once financially stable, egotistically wealthy, or downright poor. Are all facing financial struggle. Among other experiences which class individuals in the same group. Countries and social classes are no longer clearly visible with the status quo.
Equalizing as time goes on. Covid-19 deaths in all human races finally unifying those in a religion of sort. Or the sheer action of believing in something more than just life on earth. Systems of communication no longer cutting divides like butter through knives. With the digital space and online communication available to all. Used by all and forming a communicative equalizer. Countries around the world no longer look like a paint-by-different color.
With different forms of government represented in clear visibility. Countries are now moving towards the same system of governance. Given global factors and influences. Ideologies and religious beliefs, national rules, and regulations are following the same path.
Humans were divided in all the man-made latter. But the world is turning. With it, the breakdown of all which separated. Different groups, societies, countries, and people. A global pandemic. Its global effects and the crumbling of all that is society, systems, and politics — is like the ancestral ark. Is it the antidote for unity?
A natural way of bringing people — no matter their differences — together? To release that which held them on the other side of the fence. To their ‘brothers. That which saw them conflicting with others who they felt were different but weren’t. Now. The walls of division have fallen. Humans have no crutch to define their differences by. with the true essence of what it means to be human now at the forefront of people’s minds. And when we’re all the same, and see ourselves as just that, unity is a natural progression.
According to Wikipedia, “An antidote is a substance that can counteract a form of poisoning. The term ultimately derives from the Greek term (pharmakon) antidoton (medicine) given as a remedy”. Antidotes for anticoagulants are sometimes referred to as reversal agents.”
Covid-19, a biological virus. Climate-change. Natural degrading. Are all counteracting the poison of human differences and age-old divides. Possibly the antidote.
The reversal agents — to human separation, conflict, and ego-based human-held differences. Unity. The unification of humans and people. This is the answer to human-induced poisoning of the earth and endless conflict. Whether from Ghana, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, Greece, or the Middle East. 2021 will see the world’s dividers drop.
There is nothing to create divides among individuals, populations, and nations. No divide in the human species means no conflict within the hearts and minds of true men. No conflict without — whether with the next person, the next population or the world at large.
We’re all one and the same. A free people. It took a 21st Century biological pandemic. A natural change in our planet. And a failing society. To put together the different pieces that divided us. Maybe. Just maybe. Finally, unite us, into one piece, for peace.
