Pretty-hot.com is an amazing website with an admirable mission: to collect and share information about self-published authors from all over the world and their most recent works. This way, they give them a hand to promote themselves and get involved with the reading lovers community worldwide.
This is a valuable resource for both writers and readers, as it provides access to a myriad of books in the widest variety of genres. And unlike other portals, Pretty-Hot.com allows users to purchase their copies from links left by the author, not within their own site. It is pure promotion for the author.
Today I am happy to share with you that now I am a new member of this fantastic collective. Recently, Nico Pengin‘s name has appeared on the site as the author of Batey Ascending and Uprising of the Pencils, the man who dreams of telling his own stories.

Their dynamic to create profiles includes answering basic but interesting questions about the writer on a personal and professional level. And this allows us to show the public a little more about what we are doing, where to find us, and what the future holds for us.
But what I liked the most was being able to tell people what inspires me to create our pieces, what makes my creative process different from that of others, and which authors I admire or have influenced my work.
So once again, I was able to showcase my Taino roots in the interview. I continue raising awareness about how not forgetting about our past somehow opens the door to a brighter future. I talk about how this pushed me to tell a story about the legacy of my ancestors in a futuristic way, to keep their name, their customs, their creations, and their sport, Batey, alive.
I also praise what I consider to be the masterpiece of my favorite writer and how his brilliant writing style moved me, changed my perspective forever and led me to explore the world of writing.
I share the best advice I have ever received. Two words, of utmost simplicity and totally accurate: “start now”. My favorite books and how they have become a tool for my current occupation. The peculiarities of my process, putting into practice what my mentors have taught me along the way, and how involving my friends has been key to both my own success and theirs…
