As kids, our imagination flies without the real-world limiting beliefs being able to clip our wings. What a wonderful time. I know many people miss being free to let creative and exciting thoughts (although as grown-ups they seem not to make much sense) distract themselves from the heavy, daily life and its tight activities.
So cool to recall that when boredom took over us at school, we could kill time humanizing our school supplies. Going from seeing them as simple daily use objects to putting them names, professions, attributes, and details of the heroes in our subconscious minds. Sneaking in the middle of class or at recess, we would recreate great fantasies with them. And I decided to capture one of them…
La Insurrección de los Lápices
My first book in Spanish (and third in total) is called “La Insurrección de los Lápices” – (Uprising of the Pencils). A story of oppressors and oppressed people that many will find familiar. Our story takes place in San Vado; a land far, far away, hidden in that box of school supplies that you keep somewhere in your closet.
A story like no other that goes beyond our imagination, full of action and emotional moments. Here, our main character is Ardo. A young pencil eager to fix the bitter life that he and his fellow had to live.
In this amazing and small world, the pencils lived under the oppression of the evil erasers and their leader, the tyrant Tinta Conde. This monarchy was protected by markers who served as guards, covering the transgressions the self-proclaimed Tinta Conde felt like doing.
Every main character works together with their most loyal friends, and Ardo would be no exception: Artesano and Prisma were members of his group and looking to help when needed.
One day, tired of the oppression extended throughout San Vado, exhausted of thinking about how to get rid of it, Ardo goes to sleep. Not knowing that a dream would reveal a vision to him: the first step to change everyone’s life in this city. A majestic golden pen showed up in his dreams. This would guide him on the dangerous adventure of becoming the weapon of destruction that people needed to be free.
Ardo shared this vision with Artesano and Prima. Together, they must consider whether to living the way they lived, tortured every day or risking it all in one attempt to achieve liberty. An event that would change life in San Vado for the better. Certainly, the most important decision of their lives…
La Insurrección de los Lápices – the eBook – is ready for Pre-order
This is only a brief look into the adventures of Ardo and his friends in San Vado. A journey you can enjoy in full detail when reading my eBook “Uprising of the pencils “, currently available in English only.
The Spanish version is about to be ready; we are just giving the final touches. However, it is already in presale at all major retailers and you can enjoy it after launching next March 16. The word “presale” is a mere formality. The truth is the book will be available for free on that website.
You may wonder why I work so hard to produce a book and then give it for free. What do I get out of all this? The most valuable thing for me is to have my work available both in English and in Spanish, and that all Spanish-speaking people, including less fortunate family and friends, can enjoy this fascinating story.
At the same time, I know this will also help me not only get a name for myself, but to reach many talented people, let them see a little of my work and my vision, and be encouraged to collaborate on some of my many future projects.

Of course! I’m more than aware that in today’s vibrant, full of alternatives world, it is my duty and honor to offer variety. So, for those of you who enjoy hearing stories more than reading them, I have great news!
My team and I are doing our best for the book to be released in Spanish ASAP. But that’s not it. We are also currently working on the audiobook in Spanish. It is only a matter of time (a couple of months) for it to be available and reach the whole world.
